I believe that some of the world’s biggest challenges can be solved through fair and dignified work opportunities and through social enterprise. That’s why I launched Amano Marketplace back in September– to support Latin American artisans in reaching a new audience, virtually.
While Amano Marketplace has since unified 1000+ artisans on its platform and contributed nearly $10K back to artisans, I need some help from all of you to scale our impact! Amano is currently taking part in the Fedex Small Business Grant Contest for the chance to win $50K. The more votes we receive on our application, the closer we are to achieving this milestone!
The Fed-Ex small business grant would enable Amano Marketplace to test its business model and make advancements towards providing sustained value for its current and future artisan partners. We'd use 55% of the funds to invest in marketing campaigns with aligned digital & print publications. This strategic spend would drive more traffic to our website, resulting in higher sales volume for our artisan partners and valuable feedback for us on how to improve our service!
Twenty five percent of the grant would go directly to artisans through inventory purchases. With a dedicated inventory budget, we could support even more individuals & cooperatives who don't have the economic ability to work on consignment. The remaining 20% would be saved to provide a financial cushion for unexpected expenses and to explore new complimentary business models, such as an order fulfillment service for indigenous artisans.
The voting period runs until March 24th 2021, and participants can vote once every 24 hours. Please consider sharing this post with your friends and family and voting for Amano Marketplace as much as you can!
