About Us
Founding Story
When the Covid-19 global health crisis hit in 2020, Elena and Brooke watched separately as many of their artisan partners were forced to close their workshops, return to their home communities, or dedicate themselves to another industry to supplement their income. Tourism and brand partnerships, which were once key drivers of their sales and livelihood, came to a standstill, and from one day to the next, the world changed.
Looking for some solidarity with another artisanal brand, Brooke sent Elena a message to collaborate. The two hit it off and ultimately united 23 artisanal brands from across Latin America to launch Amano Marketplace, an online artisanal marketplace that promoted fair trade goods, virtual experiences, and artisan stories. For nearly two years, Amano Marketplace supported 1000+ Latin American artisans and engaged hundreds of customers through retail and educational programming.
In 2022, Elena and Brooke evolved Amano's model to focus on social entrepreneurs and fair trade brands wanting to expand their impact in Latin America. Elena and Brooke work alongside socially-minded businesses to support their Latin-American-based production and operations so that their clients can focus on driving their company and sales.
